Melbourne > New York > Portland

Laura Wade is an Australian artist and designer based in Portland, OR.

This site is a dedicated log of my personal art work.

The ‘LINK’ project  started in 2010 as a series of experiments that used textile structures as a blueprint for architectural forms.

Knitted loops were isolated, distorted and multiplied at scale.

2D shapes transformed into 3D forms by manually interlocking loops, mimicking the tension and movement of a yarn.

Over time, textiles, acrylic, paper and ink have been substituted in the process and continue to be explored.
